Based on a novel by Herman Koch - Original Italian scripted version movie
of this work made in 2014 (The Dinner - I Nostri ragazzi - available in 1080p 
- moviesbyrizzo multisub)

This is a movie about a couple of related families struggling with an appropriate response when deciding the fate of their child who were involved in the needless
and senseless attack on a homeless woman, using a pack of matches trying to set her
ablaze.

The one couple decides to do whatever is needed to protect their child and cover up the crime, even resorting to paying blackmail, and the father (a school teacher) threatening to kill the possible (black) informant using a makeshift weapon. His
brother is a Congressman

There is little sanity in the horribly scripted dialogue with much ranting and raving between the actors in this US version script, with much pretentiousness on issues of race and integrity which appear to be capricious from moment to moment. 

I much preferred the Italian made version of this film which came earlier in 2014
and which we have posted at this site for you - much more sane exchanges and 
concern with honesty  on issues of morality in substantive real form despite misgivings of errors in judgment similar to what we see unfold in the US version to a modicum of an extent I suppose (mainly the seeming ending).
